Infants and Toddlers
Crystal Sanchez, Lead Teacher:
Miss Crystal has been with Crossroads since 2006. Prior to coming to Crossroads, Miss Crystal worked at Agapeland, a Christian child care center, as a teacher assistant and camp counselor for 6 years. She also worked for the Goddard School for a year.
She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in biology from William Paterson University.
She has 2 children – Nathanael and Naomi. Miss Crystal has also volunteered for the Children’s Ministry at Faith Fellowship Ministries for over 12 years and we are happy to have her commitment, dedication and ambition to help grow your children. Her energy level is like no other! When you want something accomplished, ask Miss Crystal.
Miss Crystal loves to decorate the walls of her classroom with lots of art work that the children have done. One day it may look like a jungle and the next, a day at the farm!
Waheeda Rehman, Teacher Assistant:
Miss Waheeda came to us in 2016, as there was an influx of babies in our center! She was a certified teacher in India before coming to this country many years ago. She is married with 3 grown children.
She came to us because she missed being with children. As soon as she started at Crossroads, in the Infant Room, she fell in love with the babies! She is so caring and truly understands the individuality of each child!
Elsy Gomez, Teacher Assistant:
Miss Elsy became a staff member in 2007. She has 3 grown children, Jessica, Christopher and Richard. Jessica was a teacher’s aide at Crossroads, while she attended college.
Miss Elsy loves babies so much, that when Jessica found out we were looking for an Infant Room Assistant, she immediately told her mom and she was the first person to apply! When Miss Elsy is not working at Crossroads, she works part time for her family’s Auto Repair business.
We are blessed to have her nurturing, loving, gentle and positive attitude. You feel the love she has for the children and she always greets everyone with a smile!
Lisa has been with us since 2015. She worked for a law firm, starting out as a receptionist and working her way up to Office Manager of the firm. They became her second family as she worked for them for many years. The firm eventually closed and we were lucky to scoop her up as a substitute at the recommendation of our administrative assistant.
She found another family to spend her days with at Crossroads! She did so well that after two years of being a substitute assistant teacher, she was promoted to full time status. She is a natural and finds working with the children very rewarding. She fits in beautifully with the staff, the children and families!
In her spare time she participates in fund raisers and walks, such as the Teal Walk for Ovarian Cancer and Susan G. Komen for Breast Cancer and CHD (Congenital Heart Defect Coalition). She is very committed to what she takes on!
